|Seems like I'm staying up all night working drinking coffee with rum in it|
Watercolour on Arches 840 GSM rough.
102cm X 70cm.
This is of course a portrait of Tam, however since I have a number of paintings called Tam already, we thought it would be amusing to present her as a Rapunzel who is not quite convinced she wants to let her hair down for some dude.
So yeah there you go I made a painting that's less smooth and looks more like a painting, I can't tell if it was a good move or not, but it's done now.
Had a lot of trouble getting a good photo might repost l
After a long night slaving over a hot laptop or 2, with a whole bunch of help from Mr Danni Coy, check out my all new timelapse of Amy Jane The orginal is heading to Sydney as part of Les Petite Fours at Friends of Leon Gallery in Surry Hills, to which I was invited by the folks at Beautiful Bizarre Magazine.
"Kate" Pastel on Canson Mi-Teintes paper. 73cm X 53cm.
Portrait of Chaojiao Sun.
I have used her English name in the title, as a big part of the concept behind the artwork is her life working as a scientist in the west Starting with the Hydrological Sciences Branch at the NASA Goddard Space Flight Centre in 2000 and then the Global Modeling and Assimilation Office, then from 2008, the CSIRO Marine and Atmospheric Research Division as a research scientist in Perth. She is now a research team leader in the CSIRO Oceans and Atmosphere Flagship.
Might have to edit the above after talking to her, I THINK I have my facts straight, she's kinda awesome either way.
Huge thanks to Kate for agreeing to sit for me, and for being so patient, this project has been in the works since November last year, and has had endless delays and disruptions. I think it turned out ok though.
P.S. STILL fighting with Linux based photo editing software colour setting, let me know if anything is super dodgy looking, I think is ok?
